Wisdom is the principal thing (in life). Therefore, get wisdom, and with it get understanding, proclaimed King Solomon. In contrast Solomon warned against “fools who despise wisdom and reject knowledge.”

Wisdom brings with it numerous benefits; keeping you on the right path, avoiding making wrong turns and repeating mistakes, success in life and at work, and provide a guide to good health. Why would anyone reject wanting wisdom and understanding?

Life is difficult, filled with obstacles and challenges. What we need is wisdom that can help find a way thru life’s problems. Challenges are opportunities for personal growth. “What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger, ” said Friedrich Nietzsche. Yet many people want to avoid challenges” or look for short cuts in life. In doing so, they miss opportunities to gain wisdom and personally grow. “Happy is the man who finds wisdom, … and who gains understanding.” Proverbs 3:13
